Ronald “Ron” Earl Van Scoy, 73, of Ocean View died Feb. 1 at his residence. Born in Westover, N.Y., he was a retired computer software engineer. Private services held. Survived by wife, Brenda Van Scoy of Ocean View. Arrangements by Cremation Services of West Hawaii.

Charles “Tiko” Vernon Collins, 66, of Kailua-Kona and Gallatin, Tenn., died Feb. 1 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Bowling Green, Ky., he was a retired dentist and served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy. He was also a paddler and member of Keauhou Canoe Club. Service information to be announced. Rita Mynah Francisco, 86, of Kailua-Kona and Honolulu died Feb. 2 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, she was a homemaker. Private services held. Dorothy “Dot” Bonita Kauahi, 72, of Waimea died Nov. 20 at Hale Hoola Hamakua. Born in Bozeman, Mont., she was a retired cashier for Sure Save store, part-time cashier for Cracked Seed Etc., Homer’s Deli and Suzy’s Scrapbooking in Waimea. Theodore Lucero Jr., 80, of Mountain View died Jan. 29 at his residence. Born in Vale, S.D., he served in the U.S. Navy and worked for U.S. Corps of Engineers. Private services held.
